Perlane® - a non-surgical age eraser for deeper lines, wrinkles and folds. Perlane® is the newest FDA approved age-erasing injection treatment available today. This formula has been used in Europe for years to effectively deal with lines, wrinkles and facial folds – without surgery. Dr. Covey is excited about being able to offer Perlane® to his patients to smooth out those unwanted facial depressions and scars, or to create beautiful, more youthful lips. Perlane® follows its counterpart – Restylane ™ and are commonly used in combination for the most ideal – longest lasting results.
Like Restylane™, Perlane is a dermal filler, made from hyaluronic acid, a non-animal based substance identical to that which our own bodies manufacture. Hyaluronic acid gives substance and volume, for example, to the face, but it also depletes itself as we age. Perlane's ® larger gel particles offer enhanced volume and lifting power, making it ideal for wrinkle and fold correction in deeper layers of the skin. Perlane® is manufactured in Sweden, using a unique process which creates the larger particles, and offers longer lasting results.

Perlane® Injection Treatment – What’s Involved
Using a fine needle and pre-measured doses, Perlane® will be injected into deeper dermal, targeted areas. You may experience a little bruising and swelling at the injection sites – but this goes away quickly and is easily covered with camouflage makeup. Since Perlane® contains a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid (larger particles), you will notice immediate and longer lasting results – 6 to 12 months.
Most patients are taking advantage of the wonderful results achieved by combining Restylane™ (best suited for finer, smaller lines) with Perlane®. Perlane® is used to treat deep folds, for example, then Restylane™ is used at a later date to correct residual lines around the eyes, mouth and on the forehead. Many people also want a rounder, more sensuous line along the cheeks or lips. Restylane™ adds that additional touch of volume that makes an enormous difference to your appearance.
